My warmest greetings to the International Peace Diplomacy Corps, Inc. (IPDCI), as you celebrate the United Nations’ Day.

For more than seven decades now, the United Nations has been a concrete proof of the importance of cooperation among countries in the world. The UN has always been there in responding and providing humanitarian efforts in times of need, especially to developing countries such as the Philippines.

I would like to commend and congratulate IPDCI for holding the “Universal Peace Gathering.” We know too well that war and violence do not yield any positive fruit, but only victims. For progress to be achieved, mutual cooperation is needed to resolve international issues that affect the lives of our people.

I can guarantee you this: I am one with you in capacitating our people to uplift their lives and the society— from protecting human rights, strengthening the criminal and social justice system, and creating opportunities for all to ensure no one is left behind.

With our solidarity and confidence in each other, we can pass the torch of more inclusive, peaceful and humane society to the generations to come.

Thank you very much, and I wish you a successful celebration.
