My warmest greetings to the Royal Institution, Singapore as you hold your 9th Global Congress and Conferment Ceremony.
I am glad that your organization has chosen good governance as the central theme of your Congress, as this is also a close advocacy of mine. You understand how important transparency is, and you know well that integrity must be a cornerstone of our profession.
In this regard, I would like to thank and congratulate the Royal Institutions, Inc. for providing a venue where you can share experiences, and learn from others—and by so doing, improve your ability to advance the cause of the institution you belong to. I would also like to congratulate the awardees of this year’s Congress. You serve as concrete proof that no matter what occupation we hold, no matter what status in society we are in, we are all called upon to serve with integrity and accountability.
As Senator, rest assured that I am one with you in transforming our shared initiative into reality—from fighting corruption, to upholding the rule of law, promoting transparency and accountability across the public and private sectors, and creating opportunities to uplift our people and our society.
I wish the Royal Institutions all the best in its endeavors. I look forward to working with each of you as we continue to build and strengthen the foundation of good governance.
