Iyan ang tunay na pagmamalasakit at bayanihan. Nagbibigay-pugay ako sa Project Ugnayan sa matagumpay na pagkalap nila ng higit ₱1.5 bilyon para sa mahigit isang milyong pamilyang Pilipino na apektado ng krisis na dulot ng COVID-19. Malaking ambag ito upang kagyat na maibsan ang paghihirap ng mga pinakaapektadong pamilya.
I laud and thank all of you for stepping up to the challenges of these trying times, in the face of incoherent and faltering policies of the national government. Your initiative is a concrete proof of what we – in the government, in the business community, and in civil society – can do for the welfare of the least of us.
Ang maagap at konkretong aksyong ito ng mga nasa pribadong sektor ay paalala rin sa pamahalaan na tumutulong at handang magbukas-palad tayong lahat. Dapat na hinihikayat pa ang ganitong mga hakbang. This is what the government, particularly the Executive Branch, should be doing instead of seeking for unnecessary powers, which is not the responsive solution to the nation’s crisis. The national government should consider emulating the initiatives and mindset of the private sector. And it must act swiftly and decisively so that it can save more lives, not just from the fatal pangs of COVID-19, but also from the jaws of hunger.
Sa mga kasapi ng Project Ugnayan at maraming iba pang gagaya sa inyo: Isang pagsaludo sa inyo, kalakip ang aking dasal na sana’y pagpalain pa kayo ng Diyos sa inyong kabutihan. Mabuhay kayo! Mabuhay ang diwa ng bayanihan sa ating bayan!
